  • “First trip to Bar Harbor”

Although this inn was under new ownership and this was their first week, they ran it like they had been there for years. Innkeepers were very knowledgeable about the island and all activities. Accommodations were very comfortable and we loved the balcony/porch off of our top-floor room. Extremely welcoming couple and great breakfast. We will be back!

  • “Amazing Experience”

This was our first experience at a B&B and it surpassed all of our expectation. There was plenty of privacy and the owners were very accommodating. They had a great breakfast in the morning with a lot of different choices. We stayed in the Silver Maple Suite, the room was very clean and had plenty of room. We will be back!

  • “Personalized Luxury”

I approach B&B’s with much trepidation; not sure of the physical space, the degree of privacy and most importantly, the owners’ personalities. At Maples Inn my fears were allayed – our stay there far exceeded all expectations.

Innkeepers Leigh & Matt have hospitality in their veins and their collective experiences run deep, well beyond their years. From the charming suite with working fireplace in their 1902 house, to the huge fluffy beds with crisp linens, personalized menus with choices of well-executed entrees, the targeted recommendations on where to go & what to do, the waiting port in crystal glasses with homemade cookies at night, this husband and wife team have it going on. Their skills each perfectly complement one other. Wonderful aromas of baking throughout the day, Eggs Benedict with Lobster if you want, trading easy stories with warm humor, smiling faces and respectful interactions with their guests all made us feel like we may have left with two new friends.

When we return to Bar Harbor, we will not consider staying anywhere else. Somehow, in a short two-day visit, the Maples Inn became our new home.

  • “A wonderful place with Fabulous breakfast. Look No Further, Highly Recommended!!”

Perfect choice! Can’t say enough good things about our stay at the Maples Inn. Charming place set on quiet side St. & so conveniently located in the center of everything. Not only was the inn immaculately clean and comfortably, the breakfast was delicious with several choices including eggs benedict and amazing stuffed blueberry french toast (WOW)!! These gracious Innkeepers Matt & Leigh have a passion for hospitality and it shows in all their attention to detail, they accommodate their guests in a way that makes you feel at home and welcome, so helpful with great restaurant advice and knowlegeable assistance for activities.

Can’t forget to mention the complimentary fresh baked cookies and cozy cotton bath robes. Nice touch.

  • “Stayed in the oak treehouse room…lovely”

We so enjoyed our stay. After enjoying a day at the park it was wonderful to sit out on our very private balcony and enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. The breakfast was a delight and different each day. The personal breakfast menu was a nice surprise. Leigh and Matt are so welcoming and always there to help with suggestions for site seeing or local restaurants. You will feel pampered and cared for during your entire stay. Thanks Leigh and Matt.

  • “A cozy stay with personable and attentive innkeepers…”

Leigh and Matt were not just welcoming, but made you feel like old friends from the first meeting. You can tell that they work very hard to ensure that their guests are well taken care of and satisfied. In short, it is apparent that they love what they do and are invested in not only giving their guests an enjoyable stay, but an experience that fulfills their every need–from restaurant recommendations to nearby excursions to tips on how to make a delicious hollandaise sauce! Ever curious to learn about the places where I stay and the people I meet, I asked Matt his experiences as a chef, and about the secrets to making this challenging breakfast dish. He invited me into his kitchen and demonstrated his refined practice as though I were a long-time neighbor, indulging in all my questions with light-hearted friendliness. Each day there were cookies and pastries that were freshly-baked and warm, and pots of hot tea and coffee throughout the morning and night. While walking around the town one evening, I texted Leigh for information on restaurants, and she answered me right away with numerous choices! If you stay at this Bed and Breakfast, you will not only be surrounded by lovely decor, but an aura of true care and warmth. While other B&Bs have felt like inns, this place felt like a second home. I highly recommend it to travelers looking to take a break from the stresses of daily life. It’s nice to feel taken care of. 🙂

  • “Lovely visit at Maples Inn”

We found Maples Inn to be a great pick! I wanted to find a B&B that was nice but not too expensive and not too far from Bar Harbor and the park, and this was just perfect, right in BH walking distance from all the shopping and restaurants. It had recently changed ownership, which was a surprise to me, but the new owners, Leigh & Matt, were so hospitable in every way. Very professional. They were very friendly and always very helpful. And they paid so much attention to detail. The food was wonderful with beautiful little touches, and you could always help yourself to coffee and some kind of delicious home made treat. The room was very comfortable with sweet little touches. We stayed in Silver Maple, which has a nice little sitting area attached that you could sit and read and keep your suitcases in. They went above and beyond our expectations!

  • “Awesome B&B”

I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in the Bar Harbor area (near Acadia Nat’l Park). We chose this place because of the great reviews and it surpassed our expectations!

I called to make the reservations and Leigh was super nice and courteous. I decided not to book immediately and said I would call back if we were interested and there was no pressure from her to reserve anything. I eventually called back and she was again very kind.

Upon arrival we were very kindly greeted by Leigh and given a “tour” of the cozy place. There was plenty of coffee, hot chocolate, tea and water available and even homemade macaroons!

Our room was just as described–very cozy and adorable. I absolutely loved it! They even put our names on the door which I thought was a super cute addition.

The amenities in the bathroom (soaps, robe, towels, etc) were all very luxurious! The bedroom was a great size and the bed was ridiculous comfortable.

Breakfast was cooked to order with our names printed in the menus. How cute!? The pancakes were delicious!! My boyfriend doesn’t eat pork and they didn’t have turkey or chicken sausages so Leigh took a quick trip to the store to buy some. (:

They are located very close to “downtown” where there is a large selection of restaurants and shops.
I felt very comfortable throughout our whole stay, referring to the location, the room and with Leigh and Matt. They’re very friendly people who gave us great suggestions on where to eat and navigating the Park.

  • “A perfect stay at The Maples in Bar Harbor, ME”

This was a return visit to Bar Harbor and the Maples Inn. We stayed three years ago and always wanted to go back. To our surprise, the Inn had been sold to a lovely couple (Leigh and Matthew) who made our visit fantastic. Matt created delicious breakfast choices each morning, and Leigh navigated the ins and outs of booking trips and finding restaurants. Our visit included good friends who had not been to the Inn before. We are all looking forward to another visit in the future!

  • “They’re off to a great start!”

My husband and I booked our room at Maples Inn about 6 weeks before our vacation. We had read the reviews, saw the pictures and thought that the Inn would suit us quite nicely. Then several weeks later I called the Inn to ask a few questions and was told that in the meantime the Inn had changed ownership. Matt and Leigh Lauck were the new owners. I was a bit nervous about that as I had no reviews or other info to go by. Besides the fact that last year we had gone on a vacation to another location and we had quite a bad place to stay in so I was “once bitten, twice shy”. Well, there was no need for concern. I don’t think that our stay at the Maples Inn could have been any better. The house was VERY clean and our rooms were cleaned daily. Our bed linens had a “two day maximum” and then they were changed. The breakfasts that were served to us were excellent. We actually had a choice of 3 entrees to choose from, plus juices, granola, pastry, coffee and teas. There was always fruit available, granola bars and cold water to take along with us on our excursions. Matt and Leigh were always very personable and also helpful in suggesting places to visit and dine. They were even willing to book arrangements for us if we wanted them to. We were very honored to be their first guests and would love to go back again. The area is beautiful and there is so much to see. I highly recommend the Maples Inn.

  • “Delightful, central, charming hosts”

Lucky us – we stumbled upon the Maples Inn while walking in central Bar Harbor, and it was their opening day of the season. Stayed in a beautiful suite with a canopy bed, and enjoyed the delicious treats downstairs in the foyer (coffee, tea and chocolate cookies in the evening), as well as a superb breakfast – blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict today. The new hosts are very keen and service-oriented, even providing a menu with our names at the top in the morning! Bonus: there is a great supply of guide books and trail guides for the area in this beautifully appointed house. We’ll recommend the Maples to friends and hope to return ourselves soon.
