Food is an affair of the heart for us here at the Maples Inn bed and breakfast!
Chef Matt brings more than two decades of experience cooking in restaurants, B&Bs, and catering, to his role at the inn. He has a passion for travel, the culinary traditions and ingredients of local and far-flung cultures, and the power of tasty, fresh, and quality food to nourish and delight. He loves what he does and enjoys putting delicious breakfasts and refreshments on the table for our guests.
For early risers, a continental breakfast of gourmet Fair Trade coffees, teas, juices, fruit, and pastries is available beginning at 6:30 am.
From 8:00 to 9:30 am, we serve a full breakfast in our bright dining room or, in warm weather, on the front porch overlooking the garden. You can choose from among a choice of entrees on our menu, with options ranging from sweet to savory.
Breakfast entrees are varied and cooked to order. Examples of what you’ll find on our daily-changing menu include eggs as you like them, Maine blueberry pancakes, quiches, omelets, French toast, toasted bagels and smoked trout (Matt smokes our trout right here at the inn!), and Eggs Benedict. And don’t forget your sides: local bacon, Canadian bacon, and house made sausage accompany your meal.
We are committed to supporting Maine’s farmers and growers, and to celebrating the rich and diverse local fare the region offers. We proudly support local Maine growers and local farmer’s markets. Our eggs are always cage-free, hormone-free, and local.
We are happy to accommodate your special requests and special diet needs (i.e. vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.). Please let us know of your special requests in advance so that we may be prepared.
